Dr David N Munday

Dr Munday graduated from Adelaide University in 1987 and completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in early 1997.

He entered private practice in February 1997 and joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a staff specialist.

In 1999 he joined the late Professor John Kerin in private practice at Ashford then North Adelaide and was fortunate to have him as a valuable mentor and assistant in Minimally Invasive Surgery early in his career.

  • Accredited for Advanced (Level 5-6) Gynaecological Laparoscopic Procedures at Calvary Healthcare North Adelaide, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woodville SA, Ashford Hospital, Ashford.

  • Senior Visiting Specialist at Calvary Healthcare North Adelaide
  • Senior Visiting Specialist at Ashford Hospital
  • Senior Staff Specialist at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital since February 1997.
  • Training Supervisor for RANZCOG trainees, since 2004.
  • He continues to enjoy the value and the experience of teaching our future gynaecologists.

Areas of Special Interest and Expertise

  • Full assessment and management of Pelvic Floor Disorders (Vaginal and Uterine Prolapse) including large and recurrent prolapse, mesh complications
  • Urinary Incontinence investigation including on site Urodynamics assessment
  • Urinary Incontinence Procedures (Suburethral Sling)
  • Advanced Laparoscopic (keyhole surgery) procedures such as Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, Fibroid surgery (Myomectomy), Laparoscopic Vault Suspension (for vaginal prolapse), treatment of Adhesions and Residual Ovary Syndrome
  • Traditional Vaginal Repair Operations for primary and lesser degrees of prolapse.
  • Hysteroscopic procedures including resection of endometrial polyps and submucous fibroids, Novasure and Balloon Endometrial Ablation (for heavy and/or abnormal menstruation).
  • All general gynaecological conditions.
